All of our classes are built on the foundation of self-defense and defending loved ones. Our team of instructors brings unmatched expertise, with backgrounds in law enforcement, S.W.A.T., and the military — both active and retired professionals dedicated to helping you master your skills.

Whether your goal is recreational shooting, home and personal defense, or simply finding the handgun that best fits your needs and abilities, the Basic Handgun course at Arsenal Defender LLC is our most popular program — designed to introduce new shooters to the fundamentals of safe and confident handgun use.
In a relaxed, small-group environment, you’ll learn the core principles of firearm safety, basic operation, and marksmanship in an encouraging and supportive atmosphere. We’ll cover topics such as firearm security, proper loading and unloading, and essential shooting techniques.
You’ll also learn how to:
Identify your dominant eye
Establish a stable and effective shooting stance for improved accuracy and reduced recoil
Understand how to maintain reliability and control with your handgun
Our instructors will also provide guidance on how to legally obtain firearm permits and the proper methods for owning and transporting firearms within Northeast Ohio and across state lines.
During this class, you’ll gain hands-on experience firing several types of handguns — including both semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. We’ll begin with .22LR calibers and progress to .38 Special or 9mm, depending on your comfort and skill level.
Duration: Two 3-Hour Classes
Courses: Intermediate Handgun I & Intermediate Handgun II
The Intermediate Handgun Series at Arsenal Defender LLC is a two-part progression designed to build upon the foundation established in our Basic Handgun Course. This program provides a seamless transition from classroom-based learning to practical, real-world shooting exercises.
These sessions are hands-on and conducted privately on the range, closed to the public for a focused and safe training environment. The course emphasizes handgun reliability, teaching a standardized process for loading, unloading, and reloading to ensure consistent safety and confidence with every shot.
Students will also advance their marksmanship fundamentals, developing proper stance, grip, trigger control, sight alignment, and body positioning. Both dry fire and live fire drills are strategically integrated to maximize learning efficiency, reduce ammunition costs, and minimize fatigue.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class start time
Attire
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for range activity — such as a long-sleeve, crew-neck shirt and closed-toe shoes.
A brimmed hat is recommended but not required.
Equipment
Students are encouraged to bring their own handgun.
If needed, rental handguns are available with prior notice.
Participants should bring:
At least three (3) magazines (or two speed loaders for revolvers)
A minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition
Note: If renting a firearm from Arsenal Defender LLC, ammunition must be purchased from us for use in our equipment.
A holster is not required for this class.
Safety
Both hearing and eye protection are mandatory.
If you don’t have your own, they can be purchased at Arsenal Defender LLC at a discounted package rate.
